Sunday

img_4079img_4080Worked in the yard all day.  I’ve been wanting to make this little area in our side yard pretty and my own ever since we moved in.  It’s what I see while washing the dishes from my kitchen window.  I planted 4 different types of tall field grasses, Coreopsis and Mexican heather.

IMG_4028Liv told me last night that after she broke her arm and we came home from the hospital, she really enjoyed making a little nest in her Dad’s recliner, watching TV all day-being waited on hand and foot-and she wanted to do it again. So here we are again, 2 1/2 weeks later. I guess I’m partly to blame, maybe I was too good of a nurse. IMG_4030

They hope to make the world a better place. What Olivia doesn’t realize is that she’s littering when she throws her popsicle wrappers in the yard or wasting energy by leaving every light on in her bedroom when we leave for the day……Hey, it’s the thought that counts right?

X-Rays

This was taken at 1:10, 2 hours after she broke it. Take into consideration that this is her left arm and this picture was taken from above.

New Sling

IMG_4016I felt Olivia needed something a little cuter than the ugly sling she came home from the hospital with.  So after a little research, I found the sweetest woman in Boca Raton, FL.  She owns a company called Sling Couture (SlingCouture.com), they make the cutest little slings.  Olivia’s has royal blue sequins on it, but they come in all sorts of colors.  Even though you have a broken arm…you can still be fashionable!  Liv got so many compliments on it today and felt extra special.  They’d never seen anything like it at her dr’s office.  We call it her “bling sling”.

On a side note, Olivia’s dr appt. went great and she’s progressing nicely.  Next appt. is 3 weeks from today for a new shorter cast and removal of stitches.  After the appt. we had lunch at Panera and then went shopping at the mall for comfy clothes that she can get on over the cast….and of course one more Webkinz.

The Happy Patient

IMG_4015Olivia’s feeling great and recovering faster than we’d expected.  Mom’s still a little frazzled and very tired.  I’m not sleeping, reliving the whole experience over and over.  Kids are resilient, adults-not so much.
